“As we embrace the coming of another beautiful and wonderful summer let us remember to take care of our skin which will prevent disease and cancer. Always wear sun screen if your skin is going to be exposed to the sun either for work, play, or unexpectedly (Always have it handy). I remember a trip at the water park where no screen was used because I wanted to get more darker. Since I was dark skinned everything would be fine. lol Wrong! Three hours was spent out in the hot sun, when I returned home I started hurting profusely down my shoulders and arms, when I looked in the mirror a feeling of shock ran over my body like the mighty Cumberland Falls (where I was at the time and yes that is one of two locations in the world that has a moon bow). My skin looked like a lobster I had caught while on a fishing adventure in Mobile, AL! Anyway, three days was spent in the bed because of not being able to move. I used aloe, sun burn cream, and everything else you could imagine, it helped some but the pain was still there. So a long story short, due to my ignorance, the weekend was a loss and one day off work was spent in the bed. So sometimes it doesn’t matter how dark your skin is, your body will burn if exposed long enough to the sun for a certain amount of time. A Cap is preferred as well, my research is not complete yet but always wear a “Breathable” hat, your skin needs to breathe in order for your hair to grow, if it can’t,,,,,,,,,,, notice what happens to all the golfers and nascar peoples heads……………………….they go bald!!!”
